Research Support

Responsible for strategic planning in relation to research funding, research facilitation, research policy and administration for the MPLS Division, including:

This includes: 

  • Developing strategies and delivering projects to promote the Division’s research mission
  • Facilitating external research funding, by:
    • coordinating major bids to external funders including (a) large strategic bids, (b) calls that require a single institutional bid and (c) cross-divisional bids
    • providing institutional letters of support
    • coordinating major visits from funders
  • Managing internal research funds, including the John Fell Fund
  • Preparing policy papers and responding to consultations relating to research from within and outside the University
  • The Research Excellence Framework
  • Providing guidance and support around developing bids to the University’s Strategic Research Fund

We work closely with departments, with Research Services and many other sections of the University.
